Freedom’s Journey: The Black Experience in Civil War-Era Newport News
Winston G. Favor, co-chair of the Research and History Committee, will present on the African American experience in Newport News during the Civil War. Using American Missionary Association letters, Freedman Bureau records, and other sources, Winston will explain what happened to the former enslaved people of Newport News. You do not want to miss this presentation!
